As you are well aware, our city has already experienced the impacts of climate change, including the heat dome which killed 6 people in Mission, landslides, collapsing road and more frequent and severe weather events affecting our local infrastructure and people&#039;s safety. The raising health care costs due to wildfire smoke is yet another reason to act.\n\nIt is now widely accepted that these impacts are the result of human activities, primarily the burning of fossil fuels. Big Oil companies have known about the risks associated with their products for decades but have chosen to prioritize profits over the health and well-being of our community.\n\nI believe that it is time for our city to take action and hold these companies accountable for their actions. By joining the growing movement of cities and municipalities that are suing big oil, we can send a clear message that we will not tolerate their reckless behavior.\n\nI urge you to consider supporting the petition to sue big oil and to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that our city is fairly compensated for the costs associated with climate change. I believe that this is a critical step in protecting our community and in securing a sustainable future for generations to come.\n\nThank you for your attention to this important
